HIGH LEVEL: Book 3 of the series that starts with Mona Lisa Awakening (Monere: Children of the Moon, Book 1), a highly sensual vampire series focused on a queen coming of age, coming into power and discovering herself and the world of vampires- a world that is highly sexual in nature. I LOVE this series- it flows smoothly and swells with power and lust. This book, however enjoyable, felt like only part of a story.

In the end, there just wasn't very much to the plot. The entire story seemed to be merely a vehicle through which to introduce a new character- Dante. Don't get me wrong, Dante was awesome: powerful, sexy, terrifying and well developed. He is certainly a great addition to the series, but I was hoping for more of a conflict, more at stake.

Reading order for the series: (I always find it annoying when the publisher doesn't include the number in the title)

1. Mona Lisa Awakening
2. "Mona Lisa Three" - short story in the "Over the Moon" anthology. Being released on its own 3/25/11
3. Mona Lisa Blossoming
4. "Mona Lisa Betwining" - short story in the "On the Prowl" anthology
5. Mona Lisa Craving
6. Mona Lisa Darkening
7. Mona Lisa Eclipsing - to be released 4/5/11

CHARACTERS: You'll get more of the daringly sexy prince of hell, but not enough of good hearted Amber. Not much development, but it's fun to watch Mona Lisa with her people since all of the characters around her are distinct and have their own unique allure.

BOTTOM LINE: If you are a fan of this series, you will enjoy reading this, but don't expect a lot from it. It has the same sensual elements as the previous books and advances our knowledge of the mythos of this world, but there isn't much of a story.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. R.G. Alexander's steamy vampire/were/witch romance series: Regina in the Sun (Children of the Goddess) also her ménage focused (WICKED SEXY)
2. Karen Chance's two highly energetic, very sexy vamp series Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, Book 1) and the related series (start reading Cassandra's series first) Midnight's Daughter (Dorina Basarab, Dhampir, Book 1)
3. Kresley Cole's adventurous and intricate magical romance series (never mind the ridiculous title): A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, Book 1)
4. Jacquelyn Frank's Jacob (The Nightwalkers, Book 1) - demons, were, vamps and other fae finding their better halves in races that should be the enemy
5. Larissa Ione's Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, Book 1) - demon centric romance series that sets up a demon-run hospital under a human city. Not as well written as the others.
6. Sherrilyn Kenyon's Fantasy Lover - Dark Hunter series with shifters, vamps and Greek gods. The first book is not as good as the rest- it just gets better and better.
7. J.R. Ward's Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 1) - also darker, more violent and incredibly intense vampire romance series. Vampires protect the world from evil. Vivid glimpses into the evil perspective as well.
8. Lara Adrian's Kiss of Midnight (The Midnight Breed, Book 1) - also darker, more violent, but incredibly intense. Vampires protect the world from their evil brethren.

Mona Lisa Craving Monere Children of the Moon Book 3 Sunny Books Reviews

Loved the story! The characters are so passionate and alive! I love the loyalty of the warriors for their queen... left me wanting more 😃
Great story line because you'll want to read all four in the series. Don't forget that the novella within the series is in another book entirely. That book is 'On the Prowl' from Berkley Books in NY. There are four novellas (short stories) and Sunny's (the author) is the last in the book.
Well, I keep buying these books - so something about them is OK.

However, in this story - again Mona Lisa jumps without thinking. Being Queen does have responsibilites beyond basking. Now Mona Lisa is only about 21, but supposedly she grew up pretty tough and is supposed to be 'wiser' beyond her years. AND I realize that not much actual time has elasped - but would have thought Mona Lisa would be more aware that she has enemies and to avoid an obvious trap? No - again too easy.

Also wasn't sure about the cursed / reincarnation element in this story. Also the killing / draining in book 2 that has know created a partial demon like possesion - drama, drama, drama.

I'm ok with the multiple lovers / partners and that she is only wants to be involved with a guy when it means something. But not really sure where the Dante story line will or even can go.
I'm no stranger to Paranormal Romance novels... and this by far has been the best series. Start with Mona Lisa Blossoming, and go from there. In depth characters that you can care about. The writing is amazing, and very vivid. NO CHEESINESS!! Very erotic. I first read this series a couple of years ago, and recently read it again, even better the second time )
I have read some of the reviews and am surprised that many people weren't too crazy about the book. I though it was excellent. I try not to put too much emphasis on believability (after all, the book is classified as FICTION)! Here are my main concerns while reading **Was I entertained? YES **Did the story capture and keep my attention? YES **Did it leaving me wanting more? YES!
I do like a little trash fiction now and again and guiltily bought the third book. Don't bother! This book seems to miss expanses of plot between this book and the second. It is inexpertly written and actually offensive at times. The sex scenes are boring or repugnant and the addition of the demon blood-sucking traits clutter the plot unnecessarily. This is a truly terrible book. First two were cheap thrills. This book was no thrills. I couldn't even finish it.
This is another good book by Sunny. A fast paced, quick read that had me on the edge of my seat more than once. As far as characters go, Dante is a REALLY strong and intriguing character that had me reading as fast as I could for more. His strength, madness and superantural power combined make him a match for a Queen. Fortunately or unfortunately for Mona Lisa she's the Queen he needs to change his destiny--one that she cursed him into a lifetime ago!!!

4 stars instead of 5 for dialogue that waxed a little too poetic for me. Overall a great series, I can't wait for book 4 in the series.
